FAITH,  GENERAL,  YES ET AMEN

Ashley… What does it even mean to cultivate something?

Hey friends! I’m so glad you “asked” this question. No, but seriously I’ve been working to get this website up and running and I said to myself: Self, you haven’t even told your friends what cultivation is or how you plan to cultivate this beautiful life.

I’m a huge fan of definitions, so let’s start there. Cultivate in the present tense is defined as: to prepare or to prepare and use for the raising of crops; to foster the growth of; to foster the growth of; make friends with; encourage; to raise or assist the growth of by tilling or by labor and care. Whew that was wordy but in a nutshell. Cultivation is all about preparing, nurturing, and fostering the growth and maturity of something.

I’m a new plant mommy and when I think of the process of taking a plant from a store, getting it home, taking it out of it’s temporary pot, breaking up the roots, and preparing the ground to receive the new plant. This is all just to get it ready to thrive. After that, the real work begins. We then fertilize, water, position it to grown based on it’s needs, prune any areas that are not thriving. Then we continue this pattern until the plant reaches maturity, and beyond. Just because it matures doesn’t mean you can stop tending to it. (it’s a word if you’re listening)

Now, lets apply it to life. My faith is first and foremost so rather than “creating a beautiful life” I have the revelation that He is the Creator and has already created a beautiful life for me. It’s my responsibility to CULTIVATE IT. It’s my job to take the “seed” (His word, Matthew 13:3-9) and till the soil of my heart to receive the seed, and finally tend to it to make sure that the seed grows. Oh, and keep it alive.

With that being said, everything that I’m creating, every action I take, every challenge, opportunity, everything I build from this point on will be with God in mind. Culivating the seed that He planted so many years ago (even before the foundations of the world). Preparing for His promises that are Yes and Amen. Once the promises appear, stewardign them well, and cultivating everything He’s given.

Welp, I’m off of my soapbox for now. If you didn’t know, now you know we about God over here, The God of Bible, and Jesus Christ His son. While I’m creating content about every area of life God is and will be the focus, so if that’s you “Come on Sis”!

Love Y’all!

Ashley
